The tennis courts are available for use by any Williamsburg Settlement resident in good standing and their guests. All guests must be accompanied by a member while using the courts.
There are four tennis courts, the one furthest from the street doubling as two pickleball courts when the movable nets are wheeled into place. When not in use the nets should be wheeled to the top fence for storage so that they won't be in the way when tennis is played on that court. Note that there are locks on the wheels so be sure to release those that have been set prior to moving the net into and out of the playing postions.
There is a $20.00 refundable deposit required to obtain a tennis court key, and if lost, the charge for a replacement is also $20:00.
To apply for a key, please print out the application form on the Forms page of this web site and mail the completed form together with your check to Crest
While using the courts, please follow the posted rules:
There is a protocol regarding priority of court use when conflicts occur. For those who may be unfamiliar it, this is the way court time is allocated:
MONDAY- LADIES NIGHT 7:00 - 9:00 PM
TUESDAY- MENS NIGHT 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM - two courts
THURSDAY - MENS NIGHT 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM - two courts
Any ladies showing up on Monday nights have priority use of the courts from 7:00-9:00 PM with a prior 15 minute warm-up period beginning at 6:45 PM. During this time the ladies have the first option to play for the full 2 hour time frame and have the right to ask anyone else playing to vacate the courts if they are all occupied.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the men have priority during the stated times and usually do make active use of the courts for either singles or doubles. Men who would like to play on these nights but have no partners to join them are encouraged to just show up at the courts where they will most likely be able to join in a game with other residents. A great way to make new friends with a lot of vigorous exercise as a bonus!
The only other times the courts are unavailable for general use by residents is when the Tennis Leagues are playing. These matches are held on the dates listed below and detailed schedules are posted on the bulletin boards in the tennis court area.
